Childlike

Nar had created a PowerPoint slideshow that she immediately showed me when I arrived in Houston regarding my surprise.  Beyond ANY expectations, she had planned a Girls Galveston Getaway for the two of us while I was in town!  What transpired was one of my top 5 best days ever.

Leaving, albeit a tad late...
When we arrived, we realized just how close our hotel was to everything.
 Seriously.  Everything.
It was so incredibly nice!  We unpacked, donned some swimwear (just in case), and headed out for some late lunch at Fish Tales.  We actually split the Cobb salad there, which was to-die for, and sat on the porch just across from what would be our epic adventure of the night.
Next, we walked to Murdoch's for the best Pina Coladas, which we discovered are wine-based!, on the pier overlooking the ocean.
When finally...it was time to enter Pleasure Pier!  The first ride (of many) was the gliders.  Nar wanted to make sure it was known she was not pleased.
 I, however, was very pleased.
She ended up being too :-)
 Carousel was next.
 And then the Ferris Wheel!
When we came back down from that we realized there was an AWESOME cover band playing at the end of the pier!  We sat down with adult beverages and began enjoying some throw-back tunes.  This photo, however, was taken when I started tearing up after they began Oasis' Wonderwall.  It was a high school fav.
Nar might've teared up, too.  But mostly she was just pleased with how incredible the day had gone, and we hadn't even gotten ready yet!
We leisurely got dolled up and came back!  Again starting with the swings...
After which Nar agreed to ride the Texas Star - the tallest swing (230 feet!) in the state!!!

We enjoyed it so dadgum much we went a second time.  Best ride of the night by far - like you were flying over the ocean!
We ran halfway to The Spot trying to get there in time before the kitchen closed and realized two things: 1.  It was further than we thought and 2.  Pizza sounded better.  And it was.
Best pizza I've ever had, from Dominos even!  We split a double cheese pizza and this cheesy bread that was unbelievable back at the hotel while we rested our aching feet and sat in awe of the amazing day we had just shared.  It was joyful and fun, and perfectly planned (even if we didn't stick to it) by the best sister in the world.
