Shine 2011

It. Was. Awesome.

Also, my date won a gold medal in the Special Olympics and rode to the event in a limo.  Which I thought were the coolest things ever!  He also said I looked like Belle because I wore a big yellow dress.  He promised I could be his date next year!  We hung out with his family, some of whom were from Houston, and by the time we were done dancing my feet were killing me.

But my heart was so happy.

Vintage

At our Castle Rock Outlet excursion, I made out like a bandit at Fossil with jewelry I adored that was in the retail store originally.  Mike even bought me a necklace from the set for our anniversary for a horrible amount compared to what we bought these for!  I could stare at them all day...

And oddly enough, they sort of match my bedroom color scheme.  I'm seeing a theme here...

So soft

Sometimes, people bring their dogs into dealerships.  From there I become a giant puddle of gooey adoration.  It would be embarrassing if I cared.

Seriously just want to pinch his frips.  Look at that face!

I can't believe it either.

I found out that 5 years ago, when the region found out I was hired they Googled my full name to see what they could find out about me.  That was when Facebook was still for college students and online profiles were just beginning to take off.  But what they found was a photo of me at graduation from Texas A&M with a big Blue Oval painted on the top of my cap.  "Awww," they exclaimed, "She's really excited to be working here!"  And the rest was history.

According to my boss, Mike should be taking me out to celebrate with a fancy steak dinner.  According to him, it gets even better from here.

I have to say, up to this point, it's been pretty great already.

Under the Blood Red Sky

Our Couples without Kids group met at Merle's for dinner before heading to Hudson Gardens for a U2 Wanna be concert!
At said concert, I discovered Sweet Revenge Cupcakes.  THE MOST AMAZING CUPCAKES I HAVE EVER TASTED!
 Truck of Doom.
 Incredible timing by Jeff's sandle!
Groupies.  There's an app for that.
 Dancing on the grass!
Even Mike got his groove on.

And to end, the moment of the evening: when they finally played Jeff's song!  Hahahaha!

The Studio

Debra Dean has opened her own studio in Castle Rock!  Mike and I went to the Grand Opening and celebrated her amazing accomplishment!  Complete with fake tattoos!
 So proud!

Top it off with lunch at Crave and a very successful trip to the Castle Rock Outlets made this a fantastic Saturday with my Mike!

Time Life Books

When I was in high school, I would check out my favorite fairy tale illustrated books from the library, sit in my closet, and read each of them repeatedly until they were due.  I had a set of baoding balls that I'd balance in one hand until it grew tired when I'd transfer it to the other and become lost in each story and illustration.  For the past 5 years when I could finance my previous passions, I started collecting all the books I used to love from the Southwest library branch.  Amazon, eBay, Half Price Books, Barnes & Noble.

The only ones I didn't have were these...because I couldn't remember what they were called!  Randomly, I found one of them on a table at Half Price Books and was transported back to The Enchanted World!  So I bought it so I could find all 21 books, and stalked a set on Craigslist for a month and FINALLY bought them!

AHHHHHH!

The Colour and the Shape

It's been a while since there's been a photo-worthy sunset.  Summer is finally stepping up.

Creepy

While there were a myriad photos from our day-in at the Lodge (Father's Day presents, Apples to Apples, Scategories, reading, movies, even an evening in the hot tub!) this pretty much sums all of them up:

This is how we felt about everyone else....
Teddy Bear Lodge in Gypsum, CO!  Which you think would be a small podunk town.  It's not.  Multimillion dollar homes with their own golf courses abound.  5 bedrooms - 3 of which had large king beds and their own bathrooms, plus 2 with bunkbeds and 2 extra potties!  Huge kitchen, comfy couches, theater room, and a porch to die for...and we got the fourth night free!
Click on the panorama's and be jealous.  Porch views from the wraparound.

Dad & his girls on Father's Day Weekend in Glenwood Canyon!
The water rushing through there was unreal.  It was moving so fast half of I-70 was closed due to damage.  Amazing to watch.
 Glenwood Springs!

Cupcake from Cakes & Cuffs!  What a novel idea for a store...
 Three words:"You no get".
And Thrift Store River Dance makes a cameo!

Friday Biz

Jus' Burritos greatness.  Fuel for the thrift store intensity about to slap us upside the head.  Also the beginning of "Hidden Treasures".  Our new favorite inside joke.  And Karley's Thrift Store River Dance!  Classic.
Stopped on the journey to Gypsum for an incredible dinner in Lionshead at Billy's Island Grill.  Near and dear to Mike's heart, and now to mine!  We eat here once a year every summer!

 Vail puppy.
