Broked Broked
I've worn a ring on my thumb since Junior high. I'm pretty sure it started out as wanting to be different, but heck, it's been so long I don't really remember. Nor do I care, actually. The problem is now, if i don't have one on my thumb, I feel...naked.
Five years of wearing this ring on my thumb...
And it took five seconds of Keebler going after Kona and my hand being in the way and his tooth subsequently getting stuck in it for it to go: No More!

Gotta find me a new one. Stat. Or there's going to be a Kendra indecently exposed up in heya.

Dark side of the sun
The problem with family vacations is most definitely the end.
Long story...
No one can plan on looking this good (nor coordinated).
We smile through our pain of having to leave...
But I know two puppies who will be thrilled to see their people.

On the Riverwalk
Our last morning on the porches...
We ate at Fredericksburg Coffee and Tea. Dad forewent the beans. He loves our mom. :-D The food took a long time, but man were those great omelettes and biscuits.
At the St. Anthony in San Antonio! This amazing vintage hotel just off the river. It had gorgeous details and old, old built-in relics. We had a great time just coming up with stories surrounding the place.
Our first stop (even before margs!) was The Alamo. I had to take a picture of Mike's first sight of it. Being from Texas and having seen it so many times, I take it for granted. But Mike had only seen it one time at the age of five. There's a super cute picture of him in a Davy Crockett cap. I digress, however. Living in Texas made me take the sight for granted - it truly is a magnificent piece of history. And Mike made me appreciate that once again!
Also, because of this photo we'll get free breakfast at Delectable Egg!
Mims and her weak margarita! ;-)
View from the River Cruise. Highly recommended.
Examining the ducks.
Out for the night! Our first stop, the Irish pub!

The Main Drag (aka The Strip)
We started with breakfast at Java Ranch.
Made a long stop at Wildseed Farms, an amazing landscaping store and so much more - world's largest working flower farm!
Biggest wind chim ever.
Mike took some lovely butterfly photogs.
Next we made a stop at Becker Vineyard & Lavender.
And did a Hill Country Wine-tasting!
Lunch at the Peach Tree - incredible tastiness.
A loooong stop at Rustlin' Rob's for perusal of fine gourmet goodness. This after walking up and down main street - some amazing shops, by favorite being Red, at which I could've spent a million dollars.
Nar & Du found peach wine! It was a trip must.
Dinner at Pasta Bella, a funky Italian joint just off Main.
And ended the very biz day with an up-close-and-personal look at one of the many black cows with one large stripe around their bellies. How did they do that?!

Road Trip
If you live in Texas, have traveled the Great State, and have not been to the epic truck stop that is Buc-ee's, then you're just an idiot. The experience of a lifetime.
And Mike got his Fossil fix!
Finally! Mimi & Poppy! Complete with goodie bags of greatness thanks to Trader Joe's and Central Market!
In the ccottage!
Aren't they just the bee's knees? We stayed at Country Cottages on some beautiful land in the hill country just outside of Fredericksburg! Nar & Du found it - couldn've have found a more spectacular place. We each got our own sweet cabin, complete with king beds, whirlpool baths, and small kitchenettes.
They had elk. Watch out; they eat hats.
Dogologie, one of our favorite stops on the main drag!
Dinner at Hondo's:
It so is.
Finally, we ended at the pool with adult beverages and excellent conversation. It's how we roll.

Lone Star Bound
We arrived in Houston late last night to stay with Nar & Du until we meet our parents in Fredericksburg on Sunday! Of course, we had to introduce Mike to El Tiempo, what I can firmly say is the best Tex-Mexican Food I have ever had. Best Mexican even. It is insane.
Mike was in awe.
Mike was in awe.
Stuffed and happy.
And we had to appreciate the ducks at their house - so sweet!
