Kona
We finally took the plunge and rescued a dog!
Mike's first dog - he loves him!
He made himself quite comfortable, although I think the wood floors will take some getting used to...
We got him a crate and a nice bed, but when I walked away he freaked out. I thought "Oh no, he wants out." But he didn't want out, he just wanted to see that I was there. So I stroked his head through the crate and talked to him til he passed out curled up on his new bed. He's out cold.

The 2011 Explorer was introduced around the country and on facebook today. Denver had theirs at Root Down, an eclectic, vintage-inspired, almost self-sustaining restaurant built in an old Midas in the Highlands. I can't wait to take Mike back here! My parents would also get a huge kick out of the vintage attire...
Step Child photobombed the exterior.
Very happy with my color decision on my next pre-production company car! Red on black, you really can't go wrong.

Kickin' it
Such a perf setting for anything, much less soccer!
At the original Beau Jo's in Idaho Springs! Colorado pizza pies (betchya didn't know we had our own...)
They made the crust so thick on the outside that you put honey on it (it is honey-wheat crust afterall) and have it for dessert! Mmmmm. Hooooooney.

Talk on Corners
What is Vail without Billy's Island Grill? We dress up, we eat, we walk around, and above all else, we bask in the company of each other. It was yet another perfect weekend.
@ Billy's, at our favorite eating spot: the bar top!
It was like 60 degrees. This whole losing weight thing has made me a total temperature pansy. Doh!

Vail 2010!
Mike came home tonight and made the announcement that he'd been asked to play with a team in the Vail Invitational! So for the third year now, we packed up (this time with a cooler of appropriately healthy food) and headed up 70 to the mountains! Lionshead Inn was once again very accomodating (and cheap!) and we had ourselves a little staycation!

As soon as I get it back, I'll put the photo from Custer, SD for today up!

Why not?
What would the smartest thing to do the evening before I head out to Rapid City? Why go to Wal-Mart and pretend I know how to plant!
I ended up buying mostly on-sale flowers (I felt sorry for them; I HATE that) to fill space in our yard. This was my favorite purchase, a creeping, morning glory-like vine that soaks up sun like sprind breakers. The red is just breath-taking. I'm hoping it crawls all over the fence!

Ren Fest 2010
Mike and I chose the hottest day in CO thusfar to attend the Larkspur Renaissance Festival! We got there just as the gates opened.
This was cause for me to attempt to pull the perverbial sword from the stone:
We saw elephants, and camels that went absolutely crazy with 2 kids on them! I didn't get a photo of that, I was too stunned...
We ate such good foooooood! Really, besides the people-watching, that's why you go to these things.
Mike carried around BOTH our water bottles and various sun-blocking paraphernalia the entire time! He's so good. We stopped at the Outlets at Castle Rock (with little success) on the way home, showered up, and promptly went to Cinnebarre for the first time since April! Despicable Me and Inception were on the docket, along with amazing burgers and fries. Like I said: Best. Saturday. Ever.

Worst. Week. Ever.
So, I've decided to pretend like July 12 - 16, 2010 never happened. To help you understand this, picture me walking out of a dealership in tears Friday at 2 pm. That pretty much sums up this entire week.
That being said, BEST. SATURDAY. EVER!
Please, read on.

Foxen
Apparently our yard is a morning nap fav for a particular fox who we've caught twice curled up for a nap. I'm strangely comfortable with this.

Bloom
Mike and I have lost a total of about 35 lbs (15 and 20 respectively). I was thinking about this Thursday, and wanted so badly to wear a dress I'd only worn once (and that barely fit in 2007), hoping that it now fit!
IT DID!
So we got all dolled up in our new old digs (Mike's pants were almost too big!) and went to Bloom. What an amazing meal! We enjoyed every bite - and every bit of the time spent together. I love date night with my Mike.

This Week's Thrift Store Find
Goodwill is good to me. Found this for when I eventually redo the TV room in a vintage travel theme...I loved the ones my sister bought my dad for the Travel Biz room in Comanche!
Carry Me Ohio by Sun Kil Moon
Second find is this awesome vintage pottery piece by Miramar, who apparently are a California pottery company that created works from 1917 to 1957...gotta love the Black Berry.
So apparently, I bought a final piece! So perf in color and eclecticness for the bedroom!
Shoes are not something I'd normally consider at a thrift store, but these are Nine West (my favorite comfy heels), and have never been worn! The soles and heels are completely intact and clean. They're for a certain date night awaiting presentation!

It's back to work, and not another vacation in sight until Thanksgiving. It's been good, June - I'll miss you.
