There is a silence in the Badlands

The Rapid City Hertz people like me. They know that I will always ask for a Ford. So this time, they cut me off before I had the chance. "We don't have any Fords, so we put you in an Infinity." Um...OK! I'm in the Hertz parking lot, looking for my sleek car when I walk up to this bad boy. Yeah, I'm driving the luxury school bus. And it's AWESOME. The STEERING wheel is heated, for cryin' out loud! Sorry, Ford. You've been beat. Which is why they're 3x the price...

I decided to drive through the Badlands, finally, today. It's one of the last sites I've to see in and around Rapid City. Complpetely worth the drive.

There truly is a strange silence there. Birds chirping and hard wind and then...nothing.

Aptly named, "The Yellow Mounds". I didn't know color like this existed naturally. It was the strangest, ever-changing landscape.

And it went on forever...

Not every guy can pull off white pants...

But mine can! Rowr rowr!

Mike actually scooted me down the bar so we would be at "our" spot at Domenic's: right in front of the mirror, perfect for picture taking. I dunno how I snagged such a romantic, but I'm so keeping him!

Mike & I got dressed up for the e2 banquet at the new Hyatt in downtown Denver...and we looked gooooooooood. I wore my great aunt's jewelry, used my great grandmother's purse, and between my shoes and my dress paid $22.68!

Then Mike went out and bought an entire new ensemble, including the incredible cufflinks shown here! Ow ow!

I've been in Salt Lake City this week for the launch of our largest marketing initiative in 2 years. We held training at The Grand American, an amazing hotel downtown the likes of which I've never seen. Every room, every area, had its own chandelier. My favorite, though, was the green glass with pink glass flowers in the Garden Cafe. There were even sconces and wall lighting to match. Between the lighting, the carpet, the paintings, the furniture, and the garden, there was always something to keep the eye occupied!
