New Company Car

Look how much room I have in my garage!  It's hilarious!
Just kidding...I wanted to freak my parents out momentarily, having them think they'd be carted around in a clown car for their visit this weekend.  My Explorer's getting some work done (which makes it sound like a face lift or breast implants, but alas nothing that sexy), so I'm driving one of our marketing units.  I do have to say, it's zippy!  Super fun to weave through traffic, even if I feel like every big rig I pass might just bite my Lime Squeeze arse.

Twenties-Something

It's kinda flapper meet the 1950s.
Let's face it, I designed it around the hat (and my regional manager has now resorted to wishing me a happy holiday - which holiday depending on what color sweater I wear).  Outstanding.

Hat - Goodwill
Blouse / Sweater / skirt - ARC / FoCo thrift
Tights - Target
Shoes - thrifted (Antonio Melani - luvs them)
Belt - Old Navy
Pearls - high school!  (I keep everything)

I watched this progression from the couch as I read my book this afternoon.  What a creeper.

Epic Girls Night!!!

What can I say, the title of the event (which happens to be the title of this post) didn't lie.  It kinda was.
Wine & Cheese.  It's my weakness (one of many, to be sure).

And to all a Good Night!

I went to Castle Rock with Mike for a tournament on Friday.  His team graciously got him a room at the Hampton, so we took the chance to stop in at the Outlet Mall in CR.  The evening didn't start well, having discovered our favorite outlet (Fossil) was no longer there *tears*.

Needless to say, expectations were low when we decided to check out the Bose outlet.  Mike and I have been discussing (stalking) Bose surround sound since we moved into our house and had his (our) aggregiously large TV mounted to the wall.  The massive speakers as a part of our current system have become such a staple that I rarely notice they take up half the room (I kid.  Sort of).  We started dreaming about the premium system, and gradually over two years talked ourselves down to their less expensive model (still small speakers and great Bose sound, just not quite as small, and it doesn't come with an iPod doc).

We looked around, saw the premium model (seriously couldn't justify that expense now), their next step model (iPod doc), and couldn't find the one we were interested.  So we asked!

As it turned out, it wasn't displayed, but they had just made a sign for the box on the floor: $200 off the system, and if you purchased it, you got a free XBox Kinect.  That got our attention.  Ours has been on the fritz (very finicky on when it wants to actually open) so it was something we were going to have to replace soon.  And we could get it for free???

But then the dood helping said, "If you take it tonight, I can throw in half off installation," which means no wires hanging on 3M hooks from the ceiling, everything made to work properly, lessons on the Universal remote (no more toting around 3 depending on what you wanted to actually listen to/watch), and an overall feeling of beauty in an electronic world.

He had me at "free XBox".

So we walked out of there with a major sense of WINNING!  Which made Crave taste all the more fantastic (might I recommend the Wiseguy; I think I just did).

Dwell

If I had all the money in the world (and some semblance of justification) I'd purchase every single piece ever made by Dwell Studio for Target.  Alas, I don't have the funds (nor the bedrooms) to support such an endeavor.  But it really does make my day when I find bits and pieces at thrift stores!  Between several shams and now this enviable throw pillow, I've got myself a little piece of gently-used Dwell Heaven.  And since Heidi pointed out this little gem came with a removable cover (I almost didn't take it due to some concern over this) I was able to wash the thing and now it's like new, perched on Mike's and my pillows.
So perf.

Hat Trick

I found this hat at Goodwill (it was actually new from Target who donates what they don't sell to the organization) for $6.  I absolutely loved everything about it except for the cheesy plastic cheetah print belt sewn around the small brim.
So, I took one of the leftover ends of the myriad ties from my tie skirt, and made a new decorative addition!  I actually sewed it in 4 places (including the vintage button), but I'm now wishing I'd sewn the two ends together and added velcro so I could swap out different colors (since the collection of ties is so incredibly massive).  I might be re-doing it eventually.
If Ford ever goes under, I think I have a fine future in millinery waiting for me.  Just sayin'.
Also, apologies for the crappy photos - my camera is dead and I keep forgetting to charge it.  The Blackberry takes sub par photogs...

iPad

Don't get excited yet...I'm not opening it until I get the case from Amazon!  But months of savings and some extra blow money from Christmas has finally put an iPad in my hands!  No more shlepping around the work Dell laptop when I globe hop! ;-)
So heppey!

This week's thrift store finds

Such awesome clothes!  Ah...it's been a while...
Vintage 1970s red coat with big-arse buttons!
INcredibly Chinese fluffy coat.  I can't do this thing justice.
J.Crew linen dress that seriously makes me look tiny (motivator to keep off that weight!).
Sweet cream spring jacket, angora/cashmere sweater, Elie Tahari skirt, two more incredible skirts, and jackets/shirts that actually match!

Heaven.
