I heart perennials. They make me feel like I know what I'm doing.

Off the Beaten Path
And on the sky path! They just finished a sky path (I have no idea what the technical term for that is) across Colfax from Colorado Children's Hospital leading to heaven in a bread basket. Panera Bread opened and I will now be there every Thursday. Their Chicken Salad sandwich is insane. Give me the current read (or New iPad come Friday), Thursday dinner, and sunshine and I am a happy camper.
The walk on pretty days is the perfect way to end the work day (one way) and begin the Gift Shop Girl shift (walking back) the next. It's almost like I walk across the bridge one person, and walk back another. All with the soundtrack of sunshine and traffic.
Also, if you haven't gotten a My Panera account, you really should.

Gourmet
I looked forward to stuffed Poblano pepers all day today; it's my current home-made meal obsession. But what made it taste even better was the note I found on my way in from the garage...

I am a Car Lot Balloon
There are several (and by several I mean everyone) people in the office that humor me. Today, we walked across the street in the beautiful 70 degree and sunny weather to order lunch at Mangia Bevi, took it to go, and walked to the the Samson Park sculpture garden to enjoy a sit-down outside lunch. What a great lunch. Happy Friday!

Sneaky pidgeons at the Denver Auto Show. Apparently the city fowl are very interested in large SUVs...

That look I have on me is "Don't screw this up, you're live. Don't screw this up, you're live. Don't screw this up, you're live. Man, I have to pee." It's a multi-faceted weird face.

Do It Yourself
My mom found this perf stacking tray set originally from Pottery Barn at Hospice Thrift. A bit of liquid sandpaper, some paint (leftover from other projects), and a 2001 Atlas make for a good Sunday afternoon project.

Welcome to Reunion
We discovered some (AFFORDABLE) new homes in a planned community called Reunion, east of Denver. Shea Spaces were the development we toured, and they were incredible.
My new goal in life is finding my parents and my sister and her husband jobs. We're going to take over Colorado, just you watch.

This is what happens when I leave my camera with Mike while I use the restroom. I get photos of statues' posteriors. Could be worse, could've been his.

Worlds Largest Oreo Display
Not sure how accurate that claim is, but I think I got a sugar high just looking at it. Of course, when the parents visit, we can't help but go to King Soopers...

Ode to a Household Item
When I was living in Schuhmacher Hall, my dad bought me a timer for my oh so college-esque lamp so I could set it to turn off shortly after I left for class, and turn back on shortly before I arrived home. That way, I never came home to an dark room, but also didn't waste resources. He has always been incredibly, subtly thoughtful like that.
Fast forward to almost 10 years later, I have used it in three apartments (one in Houston) and my first home in Colorado. The other day, I heard something vibrating, and after some investigation finally found that it was the timer. I still didn't have the heart to unplug it; fortunately Mike did (he was afraid it might be a fire hazard). Two days of not having the timer and we took a special trip just to Home Depot to get a new one because we just didn't want to live without it!
All because of a purchase made almost a decade ago by a dad who loves his daughter.
