Sales Close Spooktacular

Sadly, the last day of the month landing on a weekday means that's the Sales Close.  Which means we work aaaaaaall day.

To make it just a little bit better, we held a conference call on our 5th floor balcony complete with stolen office chairs, candy corn, and water.  It made my day.

Zombie Apocolypse Preparedness

REI has some of the best classes, I swear!  We met up with the Woitas at My Brothers Bar (tasty burgers and a cool dive place) near downtown prior to taking our much-anticipated Zombie Apocolypse Preparedness class.
 Accurate:
I answered a question correctly ("Can a blister kill you...and how") and got a zombie finger puppet.  Needless to say I was ecstatic.
Mike answered a question ("Which state consumes more Spam per capita than any other" - "Hawaii") and got...Spam.  Its second appearance on this blog in a month.  Disturbing.
The downtown Denver REI is UNbelievable.  I want to live there.
I am this woman's camping young grasshoppa.  Teach me, Wise One!

E.C.P.

I know we've claimed to have an Epic Cheese Plate before...but this one put all other cheese plates to shame.  Mike is kind of amazing...

Masquer-aid

It's how we roll.  Also, Mike spilled on himself a lot, so the waitress brought him a sippy cup.  Outstanding.

Richy's Best Idea of 2012

Halloween: Quivas Style.  We had a "photobooth" for costume appreciation.  Go on, appreciate!
 American Gothic:
 Hilary & Obama:
Politicians in support of the Cocktail Party ("Vote Cocktail" and then they handed out tiny bottles of liquor - classic):
These two won Best in Show - they walked into my house and claimed to be the cops who were called on the barking dogs.  And then busted out the boom box and did a dance!  "Hot Cops".  SO. FUNNY.
 Mr. & Mrs.
Kelly and Zack from Saved by the Bell!!!
 You and I!
OMG awesome - Nacho Libre (costume #1) and Sister Encarnacion (his love interest).
 Self-explanatory...
Lady bug & 80s Hair Band.
 LINK!!!
 Hostesses with the Mostesses:
Nacho Libre complete with movie song.  Those pants are being burned.
Handsome Rennaissance Man:
This. Is. QUIVAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAS!  And tonight was epic. :-)

Sick

Having a cold really allowed me some Halloween Party Productivity this weekend.
You might remember the ugly early 90s bird cages being painted a couple days ago...
Dollar tree rat, webs, spider, and filling and BAM: creepy table topper.
I also busted out all my scary books and found two pumpkin candy jars at Goodwill.  Literally of of this came from either the Dollar Tree or Goodwill (except for the paper - on sale at Hob Lob).  I might've gone  a little nuts on the decor when Goodwill introduced their Club Blue card.  70%"?  Yeah, I'm there.

I own you

I was working tirelessly on decorations for the pending Halloween Party, when I feel a short furry animal slink up and subtly plop down next to me...
 Not ten seconds later...
And I suddenly forget why I want to yell at him all the time...

Mike even got that it was an Edgar Allen Poe-themed wreath.  He knows.

Resources

Liz and I turned the storage room into a much-needed second conference room in the office.  My favorite part of that, of course, was making it homey.  You can't tell, but those cabinets are really tall.  I had to climb on a chair, then onto a shredding bin, then finally onto the cabinet top to be able to hang a poster and regional pictures.

Because it took so dadgum much effort to get up there, when I realized I'd forgotten the tacks, I called JB to assist.  He promptly started laughing, turned around, went back to his desk, grabbed his phone, and subsequently took this photo.
JB: You need to make a demotivational poster of this photo and have it say "RESOURCES: We need more."

I laughed.

Scavenger Hunt

I drove around south Westminster looking at houses we found on Trulia for my parents.  This one was my favorite, at least from the outside and based on the view it had of the old Bellview College castle (also referenced here).
One day.  It will happen.
