The Color Run 2012

How appropriate that my first 5K be to benefit Colorado Children's Hospital.  And what a way to run!  I was so proud as my entire goal was to finish the race running, which is exactly what I did.  The first two kilometers (orange and blue) were the most difficult.  But after that, yellow and green went by in a flash!

I met Heidi at her house and we arrived at City Park around 8am, along with the rest of Denver, apparently.  We started out so sparkling clean...

 City Park was beautiful.  It couldn't have been better weather - 65 degrees and sunny!

Also, just a note: I don't care what size or gender you are, short white running shorts are never a good idea.  Especially with a black thong.  Just. Sayin'.  You're not fooling anyone.

Gran: or spray paint a very bright royal blue design on your neighbors brick wall that you have to have sandblasted to remove (you might ask your precious mom what she remembers about that)
Nar: Oh the endless reasons not to reproduce.

Mike pointed out to me that we've actually gone to a Rapids game every year since we started dating...he was so excited about I thought he'd reverted back to being 12.  Super cute.

Home Office

I'm working from home for the next three days to save money on gas.  Home made lunch at its best (complete with kale chips and strawberry/goat cheese/spinach salad- yuuuuuum).

Tie Purse

This bag was a labor of love, as the only reason I stuck through to the end was I'd already cut up most of the ties I loved!

In the end, though, it was totally worth it.  I followed these instructions, but improvised to make it the size I wanted.

I used some leftover tie tops from the skirt to finish off the strap.

I made the linig out of a pillow sham I bought at a thrift store.  Reduce, re-use, recycle at its prettiest!

The other side (which if I'm really honest is about an inch shorter than the front).  It happens.  You can't tell based on how I wear it!

Sigh...I adore neckties.

Date Night

Corrie and Bobby came over for an incredible dinner - steak, asparagus, baked potatoes, spinach and strawberry salad, and of course, drinks.  No photographic proof was taken...

Eat Outside

Al the security officer was even kind enough to keep the smokers off the patio.  It was a great hour for me.
