Home Office

I'm working from home for the next three days to save money on gas.  Home made lunch at its best (complete with kale chips and strawberry/goat cheese/spinach salad- yuuuuuum).

BABY DUCKS!

JB and I enjoyed Bambu at lunch on the park benches and then decide to take a walk around Greenwood Village.  We ran into baby ducks.  I am pretty sure I physically squee-d.  Love me some baby ducks.

Tie Purse

This bag was a labor of love, as the only reason I stuck through to the end was I'd already cut up most of the ties I loved!

In the end, though, it was totally worth it.  I followed these instructions, but improvised to make it the size I wanted.
I used some leftover tie tops from the skirt to finish off the strap.
I made the linig out of a pillow sham I bought at a thrift store.  Reduce, re-use, recycle at its prettiest!
The other side (which if I'm really honest is about an inch shorter than the front).  It happens.  You can't tell based on how I wear it!
Sigh...I adore neckties.

Date Night

Corrie and Bobby came over for an incredible dinner - steak, asparagus, baked potatoes, spinach and strawberry salad, and of course, drinks.  No photographic proof was taken...

Al the security officer was even kind enough to keep the smokers off the patio.  It was a great hour for me.

Epic T.H.

I really need to stop taking photos with my iPad.  Between that, my Blackberry, and my actual camera, I've got too much pictoral biz goin' on.

Post-Yoga Trauma

Because Keebler follows me everywhere, I decided to have a little fun with him post yoga class.  What was even weirder, though, was how long he just laid there with my sports bra on his head...

Gooftard.

Cloud

The puppies and I enjoying a beautiful Saturday on the futon (newly coated in my fav paint).  Bliss.
My iPad case was made for the previous version, so sorry about the bit of red in the corner - it doesn't quite match up, but I like it too much to get a new one!

PBJ's Gettin' Hitched!

And she asked me to be a bridesmaid!  Ahhhhhhhhhh!!!  So now, the question is: which one?  Scoop or V-Neck?

When Men were Men and Women were really, really stupid.

My dad has sent me a ton of vintage Ford ads and artistic vehicle photography.  I have to say, they make me look darn good during presentations...thanks, Poppy!

I am incredibly behind

Thing somehow got super busy and hectic, and therefore pictureless.  I've not wanted to spend a lot of time online as I'm in front of a computer for a better part of the day.  So when I get home, I'm almost anti-technology!  Almost...

My dad has been incredibly entertaining lately with his e-mailed photos.  Since I suck at life and haven't taken many photogs, I will be regailing you with his pictoral humor the next few days.  Enjoy!

The Levi Universe Smiles Upon Me

I took the second-to-last step of becoming fully Coloradoan (we started recycling last month, I buy everything thrift, I'm greener than the knees of a 3 year old in newly mowed grass) by joining a yoga studio down the street from our house.  That is an expensive little proposition of you start to really get into it.

So instead of dropping $30 on a yoga mat bag for ease of transport, I decided to make one with nothing but what I had on hand.  I found these instructions online, gathered the necessary items, and went to town.  Even with the screw up on trying to make the bottom way to epically complicated, I have to say this is a huge reward for a relatively small amount of a Saturday afternoon.
The jeans were from a 99 cent pile at Goodwiil.  I had the belt turned strap from college in a box to be used for "something".  And the tie at the top was off a whole spool I had for another project.
The bottom has a little security pocket for lipgloss and driver's license.  Probably most proud of that part.
It snaps.  Because I'm awesome. :-D
This will be so handy!

Shedding Skin

Mike got on a wild hair this weekend and cleaned out our shed.  Since we moved into our house over 2 years ago, there have been several items sitting in there taking up space and frankly not even being acknowledged.
Look at all that space!
Future site of camping gear storage...
We posted a bunch of things on Freecycle, including a concrete table that weighed a TON, random wood pieces, a box of nails, bags of sand, and some random wooden stairs.
It was all gone within 24 hours.  I love Colorado.

All-You-Can Eat Sushi

Sounds disgusting doesn't it?  We all had very low expectations when Dani and Gary brought us to Sushi Katsu for an unlimited Sushi night, and were even less confident when it looked as though we'd lapsed into the Barrio while trying to get to the place.

We could not have had a better time, or better face-stuffing for $23.99.
This place is brilliant.  All-You-Can-Eat ANYTHING.  The only catch is if you don't finish it, you pay full price.  That keeps you from being too stupid....
We were incredibly over-dressed and after about 60 seconds of discomfort due to being both a minority in dress and skin-color, we were having the time of our lives.
I was about to fall over in those heels...
Appreciate the shoes.  APPRECIATE!
We ended the evening at Yogurt City in Cherry Creek.  Epic Saturday.
I love a man in a hat.
