My sales team at Sill-TerHar surprised me with Brie cheese along with various crackers and a strawberry-jalepeno confit. I literally had tears in my eyes, I was so moved by the gesture! Unfortunately, the photo isn't exactly representative of the awesomeness of the moment...but you get the idea.

Walnut Cafe
Our last day together was spent driving around Boulder, Longmont, and Fort Collins. We began our basically all-day cheat at the very worthy Walnut Cafe in Boulder. Cute couples!

Fate
Here's the story: Mike has been stalking a particular fire pit at Target since we moved to Quivas back in March. Said fire pit, however, was about $169.99, and seeing that porch paraphernalia is close to the last thing on the list of things Mike and Kendra are saving for, it seemed out of reach. Until, of course, it went on sale at Target. Now $139.99, Mike specifically pointed it out to my dad when we stopped at Target Friday night.
But of course, they were out of stock due to the sale. "Maybe we could order it online?" I suggested. Great idea, except for shipping would've been a nightmare.
All was forgotten til today when Mom, Dad, and I explored the Cherry Creek Goodwill. I was headed towards the furniture to dream of opening my own custom furniture and decor boutique, and I saw tiles in the corner of my eye that seemed oddly familiar.
It took me a minute to realize I was looking at THE exact same fire pit Mike was salivating over at Target.
Wait, what?!
"DAD!"
There was nothing wrong with it minus the missing tile on the corner. Eveything was intact, down to the wood poker! It even had the ORIGINAL tag on it,with the discount price from Target due to said missing tile. We're at $64.98, now, people.
But then Goodwill cuts that by half. The dream fire pit is now $34.99. Of course, it took my dad 30 grueling minutes in the Denver sun to fit it into the MKX...but we grabbed some cold drinks, stopped at Lowe's to have them cut a piece of tile into the exact size needed, and voila: perfect condition!

It was well worth the extra effort when we enjoyed a fire that night!
One of my best thrift store finds ever.

Mike is a good sport
King Sooper's for like the 10th time! Mike used the tiny shopping cart at my request; it was, as I am so apt to say, classic.

Monotany
So, I'm basically spending the next 4 days waiting for my parents to get here! Along with commuting to the office every day. UGH. Two hour commute back and forth makes me cranky. So we're gonna be light on photos. Enjoy some random internet entertainment til we return to our regularly scheduled programing!

I was amazed at the productivity of today. Having only received a couple hours sleep on the flight, Mike and I tried to stay up to get a decent, regular night's sleep. So I felt bright and chipper, and spent most of today cleaning the house, unpacking, etc. Very happy with the results. But no photos. So I give you this:
My favorite tree by far on the island. And trust me, there were plenty to choose from...

Goodbye, Kaua'i
"Darphiiiiiiiin!" It never gets old...
We found Shipwreck beach a couple of days before we left. It was this striking, rocky, solitary beach that we couldn't get enough of! So the day we left, we spent our last morning and early afternoon here, sitting in the waves on folding chairs. One of my top favorite Mike & Kendra moments.
Last dinner! Amazing food and surroundings!
Claytons!

Otherwise known as the day Kendra discovered her camera had panorama capabilities. After 3 years. Awesome.

A Day in the Kaua'i Life
Mike surprised me by purchasing a stuffed shark I had commented on a couple days prior when we went for a shopping stroll! He has SUCH a cute face! We had a hard time namnig him, and had almost arrived at Wailua Falls before we had a joint effort. Mike Cyrano, and was going to say something else, when I quipped "de Shark Attack?" So we promptly named him "Cyrano de Shark Attack". CeeCee for short. And I laaaaaaaughed!
The rather treacherous (and quasi-forbidden) trek to the top of the Wailua Falls. So worth the mosquito bites!

Highway 56
Mike and I left one morning to drive the eastern and northern sides of the island. Kaua'i is so small that you can drive most of the way around half the island in a couple of hours, pending stops. It was a beautiful drive, with awesome conversation, and views that were appropriately breath-taking!
We stopped at the old, no longer utilized light house, which was a nice surprise via The Mike...
This was my favorite little shopping center by far - oh if I were independantly wealthy...
We stopped at a local grill for a burger and a much-needed cheat!
Because I was le tired!
Hanalei Taro fields - just stunning. We stood here for quite some time, just enjoying each other and the view. How could you not?
